Australia: The central bank considered raising its cash target rate by a bigger margin than the quarter percentage point hike to 7.00% announced on February 5. Minutes from the February meeting of the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) board, showed the board had opted for a quarter percentage rise rather than a 50 basis-point increase even though it believed that the nation's inflation outlook had deteriorated since its previous meeting in December.
